The two most commonly used nonwoven fabrics for surgical gowns are spunlace and spunbond–meltblown–spunbond (SMS). SMS is perfect for making surgical gowns, it is a lightweight and comfortable non-woven fabric that provides a protective barrier. Spunlace nonwoven fabric isa hydro-entangled material, usually made from wood pulp and polyester fiber.
